5 ESSENTIAL OIL BLENDS FOR FOCUS AND CONCENTRATION

IT'S TIME TO GET YOUR GROOVE ON

We all have days from time to time when we are not motivated to work, we are tired and just don't feel like doing anything, and we have a full schedule and a list of tasks to complete, and our attention span starts to decrease terribly...

But that's all normal because sometimes we get so overwhelmed with obligations that we simply can't manage to do everything, but then we feel guilty about it. Commitments and work will only happen once we feel good enough, so sometimes, we need some help from essential oils to regain focus and increase concentration.

In the following, we have selected a small guide on essential oils that significantly affect concentration and focus, but we also picked some fun and useful blends that you can try today in your diffuser or in any way that suits you.

HOW DO ESSENTIAL OILS HELP WITH A LACK OF FOCUS AND CONCENTRATION?

Within the brain is a network of cells called the limbic system that responds to sensory stimulation such as smell. The limbic system connects the nose to the brain, allowing the aroma of essential oils to produce a mental response.

We may not always be aware of it, but certain aromas affect the brain, so they can trigger memories or emotional reactions. So it's no surprise that some essential oils, or aromas, have the "power" to encourage the brain to focus, while other smells can put you in a state of mental focus that you associate with that scent.

A wide range of essential oils works in different ways to help you focus and therefore do everything you need to and want to do better with the level of concentration you need.

WHICH ESSENTIAL OILS HELP RESTORE FOCUS AND STRENGTHEN CONCENTRATION?

Many choices and products are available on the essential oil market, and each oil can usually be used in several beneficial ways. But when it comes to focus and concentration, the essential oils that stand out are rosemary, lavender, tea tree, lemon, frankincense, spearmint and sweet orange.

Rosemary essential oil has positive effects on focus and memory. A 2013 study found that inhaling rosemary oil (either through inhalation or using a diffuser) can awaken the nervous system and brain activity to promote mental clarity and awareness.

Lavender oil is one of the most popular essential oils and can be used for many purposes. In this case, the lavender essential oil will primarily be used to encourage relaxation, which helps improve focus, as the amount of stress is significantly lower. The lavender essential oil will help calm your mind, which helps with mental clarity.

Multiple studies have proven that frankincense essential oil indirectly promotes focus and creativity by balancing the nervous system. When the mind feels cluttered and distracted by various stressors, frankincense oil can provide a calming effect, making it easier to focus.

Like lavender, lemon essential oil is one of the favorites of essential oil users. It's refreshing, it smells great, it makes us feel better, and, best of all, it increases focus. Lemon oil works well on the symptoms of depression by regulating the levels of dopamine and serotonin in the brain, and this regulation can bring peace of mind and thus increase focus.

Spearmint essential oil is often found in essential oil blends that promote focus. It has beneficial effects and can improve memory and concentration. Precisely because of these properties, it is not surprising that they are often recommended for use as we age.

Although it may not have the most pleasant smell in the world, the tea tree is definitely one of the favorites of essential oils. Tea tree is often used topically in aromatherapy, but this oil also offers an invigorating aroma. The fresh and intense scent of tea trees can awaken the mind when you feel a lack of energy so that you can focus again.

Sweet orange essential oil is most commonly recommended for people distracted by anxiety and is often found in focus and concentration oil blends. Let's assume that, like everyone else, you are sometimes overwhelmed by worry and stress, so you cannot perform your duties typically. In this case, the sweet orange essential oil can help eliminate the anxiety that is bothering you.
